(Laughs) I was so bored with the long, straight hair look which almost every Hindi film heroine has today. I've done almost everything possible with my hair, right from perming to crimping. I wanted a new look. So I went in for a short haircut and tried to fit in the look for my Abbas-Mustan film.

It feels good (smiles). The main reason why I did it was to be part of a brand that had succeeded. Now it's a huge hit and I have no regrets about the length of my role in it. A hit is a hit is a hit! So what if it wasn't the main role. Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Sunil Shetty were the three main characters in the film. But people have appreciated me in it. That's really reassuring.

It's not a glam role, it's a super-glam role. It's got a very upper class and chic look. At times I'm without any makeup in some portions of the film when I'm at home. For the corporate look, I have nothing except kajal, mascara, and blush.

The look is very international and up market. It's a realistic film and I maintained that in my head. I knew that I shouldn't look unbelievable. And I think I've pretty much pulled it off.

I disagree with you here. This is a very sexy look. I've been getting compliments from a lot of men that I've never looked so hot ever before. When a person who's not sexy wears skimpy clothes it does not help. But when you have a sexy personality, the sensuality and sexuality peep out no matter what you are wearing. So it's non-glam and a not hot look in the conventional sense. It's more of an urban working woman look who means business.

We don't have a name for it yet. But we had a great schedule in London although it was very crazy and hectic. Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt are at their peak with perfect comic timings. Our chemistry is superb and we've performed well. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for this film but I know people are going to love it.

I think slowly I'm getting better at it. ‘No Entry' had situational comedy where I just had to react. In ‘Phir Hera Pheri', I just tried to fit in with Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Sunil Shetty. That was a huge task for me. The three of them have an in-built perfect timing together (laughs). A place was just created for me as a character. But I have a lot more to do in Abbas-Mustan's film. I'm playing a pivotal character who's actually very funny.

Yeah but it's too early to talk about it. All I can say is that it's a superfab film. Everybody is looking fantastic and different in it. It's got superb styling and great action. ‘Dhoom' again is a brand but this one is bigger than its predecessor. I've got a very good feel about it. It's got great content.

Every time you do something new, a different you, is projected. Then filmmakers understand that you can do this as well as that. I played a tiny part in ‘Apharan' but it was great work. I wanted to see if I could play a small town village girl with conviction. I'm playing a village dancer in ‘Omkara'.

I have ‘Omkara', ‘Dhoom 2', and Abbas-Mustan's next film with Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan. I'm listening to narrations. I'm going to get very choosy now. I've done quantity work but nothing great came of them. From now on, I'm going to do only what I enjoy. I've already made a name for myself. I want to enjoy my work rather than keep working around the clock.

I don't think the industry has been unfair to me. It's always given me the opportunity to project myself differently. I'm even thankful to the media for projecting me as a sex symbol who's not dumb. I'm happy and content with my career today (smiles). I've been accepted despite being an outsider. I'm very grateful to the industry for that. Unlike star kids, we get lesser opportunities to prove ourselves. I cannot complain about the industry. I didn't have to change myself or my lifestyle to fit in here. They accepted me the way I was.
